  1. I have been a long time Lynch fan, however I agree it might be time to see what you can get for him. Since the Royals are non contenders this year (again) and he is one of the few relievers that at this point in the season seems to be worth his salt, time to trade him. This article must have been written for a few days because his ERA is 2.61 now, after giving up 3 runs on the 16th. His strikeout rate is down in his last 8 appearances with only 3 in 7.2 innings pitched. I still like Lynch but to have a bullpen with a bunch of duds in it and 1-2 decent to good, won't get the job done. If you can get a long term prospect, it is probably time.
  2. I remember the Royals were ecstatic about getting him in the first round. How sad that he has been such a disappointment and no one has been able to get himself turned around. However at 22, he could still end up pitching for someone in the bigs. Once he does, he will probably be successful and the Royals will be able to watch another of their picks bloom, "for some one else".
  3. Excellent article! I am glad I came upon Royals Keep. You have so much meaningful and great information. Thank you very much!
  4. It is great to have such a talented and selfless baseball player on the Kansas City Royals. Bobby Witt Jr. is only in the early stages of his career and yet he is already considered one of the top three baseball players in the majors. Go Royals powered by Bobby Witt Jr.
  5. I hope Melendez absolutely crushes it with the Mets. I watched him play in Omaha and there is no one that hustles more than him. When he crushes a ball, it is a no doubter. I think he messed with his swing so much that it got into his head that he would never hit. Like O'Hearn, I believe he needs a change of scenery and now he has one. Good Luck MJ.
  6. I strongly agree with this article. The Royals need to remain in KC MO, not NKC, and not anywhere in Kansas. I don't have anything against Kansas, except it isn't where the Royals belong. I sure hope that Mr. Sherman does the right thing by leaving the KC Royals in Kansas City, Missouri.
  7. The Royals signed India to a contract larger than I thought necessary, but I feel they were just hedging their bets that they might not be able to get someone much better. That being said, I can't see the Royals not running India out there daily trying to get their money's worth out of him. Maybe just honing in on second base will make a difference. I prefer Massey at second though if he can hit like he did in 2024. He offered better than average range with some pop in his bat. If they sign Hays, it probably does not bode well for Massey as it will push him further down the line with Collins taking up some time at second base. It should be an interesting spring training, one I am looking forward to.
  8. I hope Carter Jensen is everything and more that is expected of him. If Jac and Carter both get their act together, the Royals could have a bellwether of a season.
  9. I just don't see anyway that Hernandez becomes a member of the Royals. The Royals can make much better use of their money and their roster space.
  10. Cuas is just another arm for the minor league teams to use, he was never that impressive to me.
  11. I believe Boston needs to move him somewhere but it doesn't have to be to KC. If they want too much (for me Bubic is too much) then let them eat cake.
  12. I will be excited to see Jensen in a full major league season. If he can pop 15-20 homers and hit .250, he could be on his way. It is always so hard though to predict how a player will develop. Behind Jensen is Mitchell who has bigger power and maybe better overall. Only time will tell, the Royals need them both and the sooner the better. And perhaps if Jac could start hitting, wow!
  13. As you looked at the young outfielder with BRS, don't forget how great Jac was in the minors and yet it didn't play in the bigs. It is so easy to get wrapped up into thinking a AAA breakout will be a breakout MLB star, I wonder how often it happens. I think less than 50% and perhaps much less than 50%.
  14. Bubic was a favorite of mine since he came up. He reminds me of someone who looks like he should be a cakewalk to hit against, but he is really crafty. I like Bubic's makeup and I hope we get a chance to see him start in KC again this year. I think Ragans, Lugo, Wacha, Bubic and Cameron put us on the right course. I wonder how many teams in the past had a starting rotation with more lefties than righties.
  15. I think rather than pay India anything north of $7million, they need to look elsewhere. Perhaps he would have been better IF he had adjusted to the team and he wasn't ask to learn new positions, but we will never know. He was never much more than above average at getting on base and his fielding has always been a weakness. It would be nice if Massey could regain some of his 2024 form, but he has a bad back and is probably another crap shoot. Frazier is not an everyday player but he did well for the Royals last year. He is a .260 career hitter with a little bit of pop once in a while. The Royals love his versatility so he will be back.
