    The thing that gets me is that, it's not like Wacha was the Royals Wacha when they signed him. There is a reason he hadn't made an All-Star team in 11 years. Not that he'd been bad, but he'd been mediocre at best. If the Royals can get a decent deal for him, they need to trade him and see if they can work similar magic to what they did with him, Ragans, Lugo, Bergert, and Kolek again. Also "just after a signing an extension" is a weird way of describing it. He's in the second year of what amounted to a 3-year deal. He's closer to the end of it than he is the start. And he certainly wouldn't have stuck around in KC to finish his original deal if they hadn't won in 2024 and then offered him more money. I'd get the argument if it was the first year of a long extension, but it's not that.

    Gamble's swing looks so much more fluid now than earlier this year. It's a thing of beauty and I look forward to his progress.

    FWIW, Bubic has already had a second rehab appearance and it went two innings. Still don't know if they'll ask him to start or relieve, but at least he's progressing unlike every other pitcher on the IL

    I disagree, I think Lugo and Wacha should go if there are good deals to be had. The Royals need to trust their ability to find similar tier starting pitchers in free agency and add talent for next year because they've already shown that they don't have enough as things stand without everything going right, and everything never goes right.

    Two things I really like. The hot streak is following a cold streak. The cold streak didn't break him like last year. And the home runs were not hit with the ridiculous velocities we know he can reach. If he can adjust his swing down to 105 instead of 115, he still hits homers but maybe he hits more of them because he swings and misses less? Something I'll be watching.

    The Royals seem to be trying a Massey/Loftin platoon at second, and I'm really liking it. I've definitely been on the side of being more excited about Massey - who played pretty well in a limited sample last year after returning from injury - than India. And, after Spring Training, I was more excited about Loftin, too. It sounds like India's injury might be more serious than anyone realized at the start. That's unfortunate for him, but might work out just fine for the team if Massey and Loftin keep helping them win.

    Always add the bro, bro. I'm right there with you. This lineup is a lot better if Sal is batting sixth or seventh and Carter is the obvious choice to move above him. I'd also slide up Collins and his OBP along with Jac's not-great-but-still-better OBP.

    I 100% believe the offense is going to improve from the current marks and over last year. Need everyone to just relax and do their thing, if they all start pressing again things could go downhill fast if the hitting coaches fail the test.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the footing issue could have been a significant contributing factor to his bad night. I look forward to seeing how he looks on Thursday.

    I'm very glad the Royals kept Loftin over Waters. There's enough in Loftin's profile to give me hope for his future. Waters just offers me basically nothing.

    Well, the Astros are said to want a right-handed outfield bat. But I'm not convinced a contender wants him. Even less convinced now that we know why things went so very south in Philly.

    I'm not so sure he'd be willing to take a part time role. He seemed pretty upset about having to take one in Philly and some other team might promise him lore ABs

    This makes a lot of sense, even if I would be pretty bummed to lose Bubic in a trade that didn't bring back someone I'm truly excited about. Morejon ALMOST reaches that plateau, but not quite. Also, Ranger Suarez pitched for the Phillies last year. I'm not sure who you're thinking of that left the Padres, but it wasn't him.
