Hello all,
First post, and glad to be here. I got into the Royals as a result of writing a book about the 1985 World Series, which was published last year for the 40th anniversary! The book, entitled "Interstate '85: The Royals, the Cardinals, and the Show-Me World Series," shows there was *way* more to the I-70 World Series than just Don Denkinger's missed call (which Cardinals fans need to stop blaming already). I interviewed almost all of the 1985 Royals for it, including George Brett, Steve Balboni, Mark Gubicza, Dane Iorg, Frank White, Hal McRae, Buddy Biancalana, Bud Black, Charlie Leibrandt, and many more! I even talked to Ozzie Smith and six other Cardinals, as well as Denkinger himself.
The book has enjoyed great reception, being ranked as one of the best of 2025 by Sports Collectors Digest and being peer reviewed and praised by Randy Covitz of the Kansas City Star. I even had a Cardinals fan tell me he puts it on the level of David Halberstam and John Feinstein! I hope you all enjoy it...you can get it from any major or local bookseller you prefer.
