The Royals have traded LHP Kris Bubic to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Bubic has pitched in nine games, throwing 50 1/3 innings and recording a 4.11 ERA.

Bubic is a free agent at the end of this season. The Dodgers are sending RHP Carlos Duran to the Royals. Duran made his major league debut with the Athletics last year, pitching in one game and recording one out.

Bubic will fortify a rotation that is star-studded in Los Angeles and will give the Dodgers another weapon from the left side.

Duran has pitched this year at Triple-A, throwing mostly out of the bullpen with 37 appearances and two starts. He has recorded 61 strikeouts in 42 2/3 innings and has recorded two saves for Triple-A Oklahoma City. The 25-year-old is on the 40-man roster and will give the Royals an option out of the bullpen going forward.
